The Tanzanian government in Dar es Salaam has started a 5-year grand advancement project for tourism industry, which will cost them round about £2 million. On the top priority the government of Tanzania is wishing to build new beaches and develop his beaches which are still untouched in correspondence to Kenyan beaches. The Tanzania’s coastline along Indian Ocean is roundabout three times larger than Kenya’s and most of the place on coastline is still undeveloped. Tanzania has a coastal area of 1424km long stretches from Kenya’s boarder to Mozambique and Kenya has only a coastal area of 536km. The government of Tanzania want to use all resources that they have to increase their incoming tourists. The government have a mind set to promote and polish its historical places and national masterpieces to attract history and art lovers. And most utterly they have a main weapon; a collection of national park and wild life gaming reserve

The Tanzania Society of Travel Agents (TASOTA) has encouraged the step taken by the government in order to improve security along the Indian Ocean and society told that this would boost our beaches and marine tourism. And we hope that this year we will see a couple of cruise ships docking at Dar es Salaam port.

Ezekiel Maige minister if Tourism and Natural Resources while giving briefing in Dar es Salaam said that we are focusing to increase the number of resort and develop the existing one to high standards according to international tourists. We have everything we just have to focus and develop them. Tanzania is determined to made new resorts along the beaches along the shore and off the shore and within the national park to feel the nature and wild.

Tourism and Natural Resources Minister Ezekiel Maige also said that we have rich cultural history and we want the world to know what we are past.

If you have less time than at least visit Mikumi National park which is about 283 km (175 miles) from Dar es Salaam. And on the top of the list we have Mount Kilimanjaro and I wish you are not going to miss the stunning view of Mount Kilimanjaro he added. Don’t miss this golden opportunity to visit all these places and I can assure you after visiting these places you will relax, refresh and feel comfortable while returning your home country. On 6th of January 2012, Tanzania was listed at number seven out of 45 top destinations as most preferred tourist destination to visit in 2012 and number one in African continent by the famous newspaper New York Times. And other African destinations are Uganda and Morocco listed among the 45 top destinations. Tanzania projected itself as safari destination by upgrading his national parks. They developed and enlarged their 16 national parks which cover the area of 45000 km² and these parks are managed by Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA).

Dr. Aloyce Nzuki Managing Director of The Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) said that this is great achievement for us to be at number one tourist destination in Africa and seventh among the 45 top destinations in the world. He also said that we really worked hard and leaved no stone unturned to register our country in top ten tourist destination in world and its dream come true for us to be at number seven in the world and leading the African continent. The number of tourist in the recent year to Tanzania is climbing up as it is safe and sound place for tourists. Tanzania is not only famous for his national parks, the highest and stunning Mount Kilimanjaro give Tanzania an edge over other African destination. Tanzania’s effort towards promoting itself as tourism destination is remarkable. And this is great achievement for Tanzania that they registered their country at seventh position in the world as a most preferred destination to visit in 2012. On 6th of January 2012 it’s a dream come true for Tanzanian that they ranked seventh in the world and leading the African continent as a top tourist destination. Tanzanian had left no stone unturned to turn around thing in their favour. To reach at this stage there is not only one organisation but a collective effort by organisation such as the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, the Tanzanian Tourist Board (TTB), the Political work out in abroad, advertisement campaigns and most importantly travel agencies and the investor.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism recently started a five year development plan in order to promote tourism in the country and worldwide and according to the plan the government is taking on the beaches to modernise them to international standard and government wants to made new beaches in order to increase the tourism traffic to Tanzania. The Natural Resource and Tourism Minister, Mr Ezekiel Maige told that the in our plan we want to increase the number of beaches with world class facilities including five star hotel, restaurant, shopping complex and many more. Tanzania is focusing on beaches to take them on to top tourism destination famous for beaches. We are doing everything to make Tanzania famous for his beaches. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism is doing well to attract the tourists by offer them discount on entry fees into museums.

Tanzanians will continue their efforts to promote tourism domestically and internationally. Tanzania’s government is now brave about what they got and it will leave no stone unturned in achieving better performance toward the perfection.
